Plan Ahead for Christmas Flights

Christmas travellers should plan ahead and arrive early for flights, Acting CEO of Darwin International Airport Tom Ganley recommended today.

“Christmas is a busy time at Darwin International Airport. Planes and car parks are reaching capacity and people often have more luggage.

“Travellers should allow extra time to account for the weather, finding long-term parking and queues at the check in counter and security,” he said.

“Easter and Christmas are our busiest times for parking,” he said.

“We still have spaces in the long-term saver car park on Pedersen Road but once it fills, motorists will be guided to alternative parking.

“There is a bus from the long-term saver car park, which is popular with people who want the convenience of driving to the airport. But please allow plenty of time to catch the bus,” he said.

“Taxis are also a great alternative, but please keep in mind that they are busy at Christmas so book ahead,” Mr Ganley said.
