Travel Reminder for School Holidays & Easter

Airport Development Group (ADG), owners of Darwin and Alice Springs Airports, is reminding travellers to allow extra time to move through the airport during the school holidays and Easter.

With both airports experiencing a significant increase in passenger numbers in recent weeks Executive General Manager Selwyn D’Souza says he expects the airports to be busy during peak times.

“We encourage anyone travelling through our airports over the school holidays and Easter to leave ample time to arrive, check-in and go through security, as some of these processes are going to take a little longer than they did pre-covid.”

Growth in demand has seen airlines add more flights, restart old routes and commence new ones.

“There is definitely a growing excitement and confidence in return of interstate and overseas travel,” he said.

“We are seeing more flights added, new routes launched including to Townsville, Cairns and Dili, and restart of the ever-popular Singapore flights.”

“This is great news for Territorians and our local tourism market.”

“As we return to flying we encourage passengers to please plan, prepare and be patient.”

The wearing of face masks is mandated by the Federal Government in all Australian airports.
